China Southern Airlines’ cargo service between Chongqing, Shanghai-Pudong and Amsterdam has transported 570 tonnes of cargo since it was launched on 15 September, reported Xinhua. According to the news agency, this is evidence that Chongqing is becoming an international air freight hub.
IT products made in Chongqing, mostly laptops, made up 557 tonnes of the total cargo carried.
The frequency will be increased to four flights a week from March.
