Yangtze Business Services, supported by the Yangtze River Administration under the Ministry of Transport, is to host a conference on the safe shipping of dangerous cargo on the Yangtze.

The event will be held on 22 March in Shanghai and the keynote speaker will be Chen Zhengcai, Director of Transport and Safety at the MOT’s Bureau of Waterway Transportation. He was responsible for drafting the State Council’s Decree 591, which came into effect last month and replaced Decree 344. This regulation governs the shipment of dangerous cargo on China’s inland waterways and Mr Chen will talk about its implications for chemical manufacturers and their service providers.

Officials from the Three Gorges Administration and Jiangsu Maritime Safety Administration will also be speaking at the event.
