The German specialty chemicals company Lanxess is to establish a leather chemicals plant in Changzhou, Jiangsu province. It will invest about US$40m in the plant, making it the company’s single largest investment in the leather chemicals business in China.
The new plant will have an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons and will create some 150 jobs.
China accounted for more than €1bn in sales for the company last year.
