Japan’s largest supermarket group Aeon plans to build three large shopping centres in Wuhan, capital of the central province of Hubei, according to city government officials. They are expected to open in 2015.
The three centres will be located in Dongxihu development zone, Wuhan ETDZ and Jiangan district.
Last July, Aeon announced an aggressive China expansion plan designed to help it catch up with foreign rivals with a greater presence in the country, such as Walmart and Carrefour.
