Two Beijing-Shanghai high-speed trains were cancelled and others were delayed because of dense fog in Tianjin and Hebei province on 22 February, according to Beijing Railway Administration.

Air traffic was also affected by fog. At Shanghai Pudong International Airport, more than 150 flights were delayed or diverted to alternative airports.

In the southernmost island of Hainan, Haikou Meilan Airport was closed due to the fog, according to operators. Shipping services between the island and Guangdong province across the Qiongzhou Strait were suspended early on Wednesday morning, said local maritime authorities.
