Decline in Shanghai air cargo volume

Shanghai Pudong International Airport recorded a 22 per cent fall in its air cargo volume to 199,900 tonnes in January, according to figures posted by Shanghai International Airport. Freight volume on domestic services dropped 28 per cent to 23,500 tonnes, while international cargo fell 20 per cent to 150,400 tonnes. Cargo volumes to Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan dropped 30 per cent to 26,000 tonnes.

Statistics released by Shanghai Statistics Bureau show that Shanghai’s two airports, Pudong and Hongqiao, recorded a fall of 19 per cent in their combined cargo volume to 243,100 tonnes.
