Transhipment tax rebate for Yangshan-bound cargo

27 June 2012
From 1 August, transhipments bound for Shanghai Yangshan terminal from Qingdao and Wuhan can enjoy a tax refund at their port of origin, Xinhua reported.

In order to be eligible, cargo should clear customs at Qingdao’s Qianwan or Wuhan’s Yangluo terminals and must be carried by water to Yangshan Bonded Area by one of two designated carriers, Shanghai Puhai Shipping or Sinotrans Hubei. Initially, only four designated ships will take part in the pilot scheme: Yong Yu 016, Yong Yu 018, Xin Bin Cheng and Xiang Lian.

Exporters, who must apply for qualification before they can take part in the scheme, can get their tax rebate at customs in Qingdao or Wuhan once their cargo has arrived at Yangshan.
