1 August 2012
China’s first large vessel with dual functions of patrol and rescue ordered by China Maritime Safety Authorities went into the water from Wuchang Shipyard in Wuhan on 28 July. ‘Haixun 01’ is expected to begin service by the end of this year.

The vessel, 128.6 metres long, 16 metres wide and 7.9 metres high, has a designed speed of 20.4 knots. Equipped with modern technology, a helicopter launch pad and facilities for accommodating 200 rescued personnel at one time, it is the MSA’s first working vessel with patrol and rescue functions.
