Airports and expressways in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu were affected by heavy snow on 18 and 19 February.
Nanjing Lukou International Airport reopened at 9.20am on Tuesday after closing for nearly 12 hours, with several flights cancelled or delayed, reported Xinhua. Between 12cm and 21cm of snow was lying in the provincial capital of Nanjing on Tuesday morning.
Jiangsu traffic authorities said highways across the province were open despite some minor traffic accidents, but advised drivers to drive slowly and carefully in icy conditions.
High-speed trains heading for Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou reduced their speeds due to safety considerations and some other services were cancelled, the provincial railway department said.
Heavy snow also covered the neighbouring province of Anhui province. Some expressways were forced to close temporarily. | |
