29 May 2013
Construction of the Chongqing-Wanzhou railway will start this month and the line should open to traffic in May 2017, said Chongqing government officials. Then it will take only one hour to take the train from Chongqing to Wanzhou, according to Chongqing Development and Reform Commission.

The 247km Yu-Wan passenger railway will have nine stations and a designed speed of 250kph.

Elsewhere in the country, the 258km Nanjing-Anqing railway is set to open by the end of next year, according to officials in Anhui province, when the journey time between the two cities will be reduced to 90 minutes.
