Train derailed in central China

17 July 2014
Rail traffic was restored five hours after a passenger train derailed on 12 July between the cities of Changyang and Yichang in Hubei province, according to the local railway authority.

Wuhan Railway Bureau said that the railway department was trying its best to minimise the impact of the derailment.

One car of a train travelling from Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, to Changsha, capital of Hunan province, came off the track at about 7.10am. No casualties were reported.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
