Zhang Tingting, Managing Director
Tingting, born and bred in Shanghai, is a former Shanghai correspondent for China
Daily, the national English-language newspaper, covering infrastructure,
legislation and foreign affairs. After a short stint at the Financial Times
in London as a guest writer in the 1990s, she joined Barclays Bank as its head of
equity research in Shanghai. Her knowledge of the inner workings of the Chinese
hierarchy, her network of contacts and her ability to learn quickly and communicate
effectively are instrumental in winning the trust and support of the Chinese. Such
assistance is vital when it comes to sourcing potentially sensitive information,
as is often the case with the Yangtze ports and other transportation facilities.

David is an experienced China specialist, having been involved in China-related
business publishing for more than 15 years. At Alain Charles Publishing, he was
managing editor of both China Economic Review (1992-2003) and its best-selling
China Business Handbook title (1998-2007). His other editing projects include
China-Britain Business 2005 and 2006 for Roxby Media and The First
