Yangtze Transport 2008

A concerted effort is underway to modernise the Yangtze River and the road and rail networks that follow its course. This 20-year project is part of China’s drive to open up its interior and sustain the country’s remarkable economic growth in the long term. Yangtze Transport 2008 is the definitive guide to transportation in this important region.

Written for the shipping industry and logistics professionals in addition to foreign manufacturers, the book contains scores of FIE case studies, plus enhanced coverage of road, rail and airport networks. It will include a directory of logistics providers in the leading Yangtze cities, along with detailed maps and charts.

Like the 2006 edition, the book is divided into two parts. Part one comprises 12 chapters of independent analysis of government policies and their impact, investment opportunities and challenges. Part two is made up of profiles of all the 24 leading port cities, covering the local economy and transport network including a detailed assessment of the port itself.

More than 200 pages long, in both English and Chinese, Yangtze Transport 2008 is assembled by an editorial team comprising leading journalists from the world of international shipping and Chinese business. Click here to order.

What they say about Yangtze Transport 2008:

"Yangtze Transport 2008 is possibly the transport book of the year. Anyone wishing to know what happens in China when goods are outside the ocean port gates should acquire and read this book." Sam Ignarski, Bow Wave, July 2008

"This book is the authoritative resource on the often mysterious world that is the Yangtze River. It provides unmatched analysis of how shipping and logistics is evolving on the freight world's most important inland waterway." Eric Johnson, Asia Associate Editor, American Shipper, August 2008

"Yangtze Transport 2008 contains a wealth of useful information for anyone doing logistics, distribution, shipping or manufacturing in the Yangtze area. This book also differs from the usual boost, boost, go, go tomes in being realistic about the problems China faces.” Paul French, Access Asia, July 2008

"I would certainly recommend this as money well spent for those logistics and transport organisations wishing to work or invest in this part of China.” Dorothea Carvalho, Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation (UK)
